The program recognizes 8th graders who have distinguished themselves in academics, service and leadership. Invitations will be mailed to parents of honorees. Uniforms are not required, but appropriate dress is expected.

Participation in all activities is based upon grades and citizenship. No students receiving 2 or more F's or 2 or more U's will be allowed to attend any event. The dress regulations conform to the LBUSD Dress and Grooming Standards. Beginning as early as April, all eighth grade students will be placed on a demerit system to determine eligibility to attend year end activities. The demerit system is described below. Parents, please review and discuss it with your students. 

1. Each 8th grade student begins with zero demerits. 

2. Demerits will be given due to discipline infractions including, but not limited to; willful defiance, fighting, defacing school property, excessive tardies/truancies and dress code violations and other similar offenses. 

3. Demerits given are at the discretion of the learning directors and principal. 

4. Any single serious violation of school rules may result in the loss of all privileges and activities, including participation in the promotional assembly. 

5. For each demerit given after the first demerit, which is a warning demerit, students will be disqualified from events below in the following order:
