STUDENTS:

• There is no school next Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Please remind your parent there is no school on this day.

• All library books are due to the library this Friday. Students that do not return their books by the end of the year will not receive yearbooks or report cards.

• This Thursday’s Running club has been cancelled. See all runners next Tuesday.  Mr. Michaels

• Attention all runners! Make sure you turn your permission slip into Mr. Michaels for the All-City Cross Country Championship on Friday, May 31.

• 8^th graders: We are looking for talented students to sing our national anthem at this year’s promotional ceremonies. The auditions will be held next Wednesday in the auditorium immediately after school and is open to all eligible 8^th graders. Please come with the music memorized and ready to show your talent.

• Eighth graders: If you believe you’ve had 3 years of perfect attendance and did not miss any full days while Hughes, please stop by the attendance office and give your name to Mrs. Mack so she can double check her records

  • Id's are to be worn around your neck on a lanyard or clipped to your shirt or sweatshirt. If they are not you will receive lunch detention.
  • Fashion or play glasses are not to be worn at school. They will be confiscated if you bring them.
  • Remember that you can only wait on the steps of the 600 & 700 building before school. This is not allowed at any other building.

• Attention Hughes: We are entering week 2 of the "Fill‑This‑Bag" recycling competition, we have just 2 weeks to go. The first period class that collects the most bags will win Donut Breakfast or Pizza lunch, and the student that collects the most will win an E‑book reader. Ask you neighbors to save their bottles and cans for you. Get your family to collect at work. Get your sports teams to collect. If we all bring in 1 bag each we will collect 1,600 bags. Collect, collect, collect!
