STUDENTS:

  • There is no school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Please remind your parent there is no school on this day.

 

  • All library books are due today. Students that do not return their books by the end of the year will not receive yearbooks or report cards.

 

  • Attention all runners! Make sure you turn your permission slip into Mr. Michaels for the All-City Cross Country Championship on Friday, May 31.

 

  • 8th graders: promotional speakers are needed! Any students interested in trying out to be a promotional speaker need to sign up for a time slot outside of Room 406. Try outs will be on June 3rd and 4th. Please bring a prepared speech and be ready to read it. If you have questions, please see your English teacher.

 

  • Attention girls’ soccer players: Mandatory meeting today in the gym at 3 pm. The meeting will only take 5 minutes. If you are unable to attend, stop by Mr. Beebe's class prior to the meeting.

 

  • Eighth graders: If you believe you’ve had 3 years of perfect attendance and did not miss any full days while Hughes, please stop by the attendance office and give your name to Mrs. Mack

 

  • Yearbook: Our last presale will be next week. 8th graders, you can preorder your yearbook on Wednesday after school. All other grades, you can preorder a yearbook on Thursday after school. Stop by room 802 to make your purchase and make sure to have $35 cash.

 

  • Attention Hughes ‑ This is your last weekend to collect bottles and cans for the "Fill‑This‑Bag" recycling competition. Collect at sports, at barbeques and parties! Remind your family to collect at work! The first period class that collects the most wins a Donut Breakfast or Pizza Lunch and the envy of all the other classes. The student that collects the most wins an E‑book reader. Everyone who brings in a bag will win raffle tickets for prizes. Go Green!

  • 8th graders: We are looking for talented students to sing our national anthem at this year’s promotional ceremonies. The auditions will be held next Wednesday in the auditorium immediately after school and is open to all eligible 8th graders. Please come with the music memorized and ready to show your talent.

    • Id's are to be worn around your neck on a lanyard or clipped to your shirt or sweatshirt. If they are not you will receive lunch detention.
    • Fashion or play glasses are not to be worn at school. They will be confiscated if you bring them.
    • Remember that you can only wait on the steps of the 600 & 700 building before school. This is not allowed at any other building.

  • Attention Hughes: We are entering week 2 of the "Fill‑This‑Bag" recycling competition, we have just 2 weeks to go. The first period class that collects the most bags will win Donut Breakfast or Pizza lunch, and the student that collects the most will win an E‑book reader.
