The 2012-2013 track and field team, and their coach Mr. Benjamin, got down to business on Saturday and proudly took home a first place finish in this years' league meet. Led by a strong shot-put and high jump cast, Hughes dominated the Northern League field events and won the meet handily.

In running events, the boys won the 4X400 relay by more than 8-seconds and placed 1st, 2nd and 4th in the 800m run. The Owls also took first and third places in the mile. A second place finish in the 100m and a third place finish in the 200 rounded out the bright spots for the boys.

The qualifying boys' then went on to compete in the All-City meet on Tuesday, February 26th and 27th. Hughes finished in a very respectable second place falling only to the Mustangs of Rogers. Both events were held at Lakewood High School.
