Ms. Koga

It is an honor to be a counselor at Hughes Middle School! I have been here for 10 years and wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

I realized at the age of 23, while serving as a high school leader at my church, that I wanted to be a school counselor.  I graduated from with a B.A. in Sociology from Biola University and an M.A. and Credential in Educational Counseling from Azusa Pacific University.  I was the first in my family to attend and graduate from college.  My parents were not able to help financially but I worked hard and accessed available resources so that I could achieve my dream.  I never would have made it to college without my best friend; she encouraged me to apply to college even though my family didn't have money..."just try and see what happens," she said.

One thing that I love about my job is that I truly love coming to work every day.  I get to spend so much time with students and parents, and I frequently tell people that I think I have the best job.  I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Mr. Temple
