* Seventh Graders listen up! Hughes is in need of 100 awesome role models to lead as 8th grade WEB leaders for next year. These students will mentor the new 6th grade class by guiding them through orientation day. If you are interested in being a WEB leader and serving as a mentor to 6th graders please come to an information meeting next Wednesday held by Mr. Krstich and Mrs. Van Divort in room 105 EITHER before school, during 4th period lunch or after school. We look forward to meeting you!

 

*Attention All Hughes Runners! Run-for Fun Club is beginning today after school from 3:45 to 4:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Whether you are interested in running Cross Country in High School, if you want to get in shape for summer, or if you just want to be part of a school activity, all students are invited! We will meet on the blacktop outside the P.E. office today. See you there! From Mr. Michaels, Club Coordinator.

 

*Attention all Hughes artists it is once again time for the agenda cover contest. If you would like to have your artwork featured on all 1600 2019-2020 agendas then please stop by 408 to get an official entry form. Make sure to follow all direction on the form to better your chances of winning. All grades can enter and all entries are due back to Mrs. Thursby by Thursday, April 18th. Good Luck!

 

*Attention current 6th & 7th graders: the Electives Faire is coming! This is your chance to explore all the wonderful elective opportunities that you have for next year. On Wednesday, April 10th, Mr. Temple and Mrs. Koga will visit history classes to explain the process. The Electives Faire will take place on Thursday, April 11th. Before school, from 8am to 8:45am, you may walk through electives classes to meet teachers and ask questions. During 1stlunch, there will be tables set up near the steps of the gym where you can view student work and speak with teachers as well. Then, on Friday April 12th, 6th and 7th graders will select their electives choices for next year on chrome books during their history classes. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!

 

*Attention Owls!! Female Leadership Academy is hosting a Book Drive. Please send over any books you no longer want to room 405 by Wednesday, April 17. Even a few will make a huge difference. * Students, confetti eggs are not allowed on campus. Students caught with confetti eggs will be given a consequence which may include a demerit.
